Instructor-led
As with any learning, effective instructor-led training starts with solid learning objectives. A quality Facilitator Guide with suggested talking points, visual slide identifiers, timing and handout references sets you up for success. Most times, the objectives for an in-person (or virtual in-person) experience provide a great opportunity for activity and interaction to apply and practice the learning. In virtual instructor-led training, it’s even more important to maintain the learners’ attention, building in a quick knowledge check and/or activity every few minutes! Virtual fatigue is real, and people will tune you out very easily without the time to stop, reflect, interact, engage. These breaks must be planned, yet natural. I always build instructor-led training understanding that we are all human. We need a reason to be there, mental breaks and something memorable.
